Former Chairmanship aspirant for Ughelli North Local Government Area, Chief Dave Okorare has called on the Itsekiris and the Ijaws to exercise moderation on their strong stance on the name and whatever may be their annoyance and grievances against the EPZ project and its inauguration.

In  a statement, the Warri based businessman said Delta State was just too lucky to be a beneficiary of the project, adding that there are more business friendly states that lobbied for the siting of the project but never got it.

Chief Okorare said if the Itsekiris and the Ijaws think the Federal Government cannot move the project from Delta State, they are deceiving themselves, advising them to sit up to the reality of political mathematics before it is too late.

He blamed the State Government for playing politics with the EPZ project “for continuing to press the wrong button to address the issue”.

According to him, the name of the project should not generate problem of this magnitude but that the project should matter most to all Deltans in particular and Nigerians in general.

Business in Warri, Delta State, he said, “is suffering today because of the unfortunate Warri crisis and wrong policy decision in the past and so we should not allow this opportunity to slip us by, we should give peace a chance.”
