The APC stalwart’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration message released by his Director of Political Communication, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe emphasised the absolute need for national and global peace, love and unity which can be achieved through mutual co-existence without rancour and disrespect for freedom of religion and worship among the two major religious groups.

The APC Board of Trustees (BOT) member commended the religious neutrality of President Muhammadu Buhari since assumption of office as evident in his various interactions with Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.

In the same vein, he eulogies the patriotic and leadership by example so far exhibited openly by His Royal Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, who through various platforms and events consistently emphasised the need for religious tolerance which helped a great deal in the attainment of relative peace between Muslims and Christians in the face of terrorism and religious violence in the country.

Emerhor said the problems of insecurity and global terrorism can easily be tackled through shared love, mutual respect for individual’s religious belief and worship, adding that the time is ripe for religious leaders to be in the forefront of the vanguard for consolidated religious tolerance, peace, unity and national interest so as to achieve maximum security so as to facilitate delivery of dividend of democracy by federal, State and local governments.

“I therefore urge Christians and Muslims in Nigeria to use this unique EID festival to reflect on the need for greater synergy, cultivate the most ideal attitude towards attainment of peace through unconditional love and mutual respect for individual religion. This way, we are able to appreciate each other better irrespective of the geopolitical zones we hail from.

I congratulate Muslims for the huge success of this year’s EID Kabir celebration. I urge Nigerians to trust the leadership capabilities of President Muhammadu Buhari, to take the nation out of the prevailing economic recession and to always pray for the rapid growth and socioeconomic development of our nation.” Emerhor stated.
