Hon. Ekekereokosu disclosed this to newsmen today while doing a last minute inspection on the bridge in preparation for the commissioning tomorrow.

He described the Flyover Bridge as one of the legacy projects of Governor Uduaghan’s administration, saying the flyover bridge when commissioned will help to ease the traffic congestion usually experienced in that area, and that the presence of the bridge has also added to the aesthetic value of that area.

The Commissioner thanked the community for cooperating with the state government and the contractors handling the project in ensuring that the project was completed on record time, noting that it was a thing of joy to see that the project will be commissioned before the expiration of the Uduaghan’s administration.

He said: “This flyover bridge will be commissioned tomorrow by 1pm. You will agree with me that this bridge has added to the aesthetic value of this road and it is going to ease the traffic situation in this area. The project has been completed on record time. We want to thank the community for cooperating with the contractors and government in ensuring that this project is completed on record time. It is a thing of joy to us to see that we are commissioning this bridge before the end of this administration. I want to thank everybody that has contributed to the progress of this project. This project is done to specification and on record time.”

Hon. Ekereokosu said: “What I can tell you now is that the bridge will decongest the traffic situation and it has added to the aesthetic value of the environment. The governor has done marvelously well and we can say that this is one of our legacy projects. I am happy to be associated with this project because I am part of making history.”

He advised Deltans to appreciate the efforts of the state government in completing the flyover bridge on record time and they should stop complaining that it was speedily done, assuring the people that the bridge was constructed according to specification.

“People should not be worried about the way the bridge was speedily done. Usually projects were not speedily done and people used to complain. But now that the government has put pressure on the contractor to speed up the work, people are still complaining that it is speedily done. All I can assure you is that in terms of engineering, everything is perfectly done well and according to specification,” he said.
