The leadership of the Accord party of Nigeria, Edo State chapter, has brushed aside rumor making the rounds in the state capital over the alleged factional emergence of its flag-bearer Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki during its primary election that produced him as the candidate of the party for the governorship election of September 10, 2016.

Accord-Party-logoThe statements contained in a press release issued by the Chairman of the party Hon. Joseph Osa Omoregbe yesterday at the party’s secretariat in Benin City noted while briefing newsmen that a credible primary election was conducted as stipulated in the constitution that produced the candidacy of Dr. Don Obaseki as the authentic flag-bearer of the party.

Speaking shortly after the Primary, Hon Omoregbe opined that Dr. Isibor Claims are mere educational exercise and should be disregarded by all because he is not a member of the party, adding,” I am recognized by the national leadership of the party under the stewardship of Alhaji Lawal Mohammed Nalado and INEC Edo State.

He further asserted; “we read in some national dailies that Dr. Isibor has been parading himself as the national Secretary and also the state Chairman. Is that possible for one person to be holding that office at the same time? It is mind boggling to claim as such. This is a ploy to distract party activities. He has used this means to defraud the general public. We want to warn the general public to desist hence with from doing any business with him as he’s an impostor. We are gearing up to flag off our campaigns in the state perhaps, next week Monday or Tuesday because Accord party is one big family no faction”.

It will be recalled that certain Dr. Samson Isibor and Mr. Emmanuel idehenre had earlier alleged in some national dailies of Tuesday July 5, 2016 that the election conducted that produced Dr. Obaseki was illegal and should be disregarded, claiming that he was the authentic state chairman.
