The Leadership of All Progressives Congress Edo State Chapter, on
Friday reiterated its earlier restriction of officials of the party
from joining campaign team of any governorship aspirant.

A statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party,
Godwin Erhahon noted that the State working Committee resolved to enforce its earlier order forbidding all party officials from
campaigning for aspirants and to punish any official violating the
order.

Erahon stated: “The Committee, which is the highest party organ in the State, stressed that the restriction order has become necessary so that the neutrality and credibility of the party executives at all
levels will not be jeopardized.”

“The SWC also advised all aspirants to caution their supporters
against any form of hostility towards their rivals in the party,
stressing that as members of one political family, APC, whoever
emerges as gubernatorial candidate will need the support of those he
defeated at the primaries to enable him win the general election.”

The Committee, according to Erahon, commended the sagacity and
patriotism of the Comrade Governor by which he has continued to pay salaries and pensions promptly and keep development going at an impressive pace.
