People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Warri South council area of Delta State, on Friday affirmed the candidacy of Comrade Micheal Tidi for the upcoming Delta state council election.

The party, who had earlier adopted Comrade Tidi as their consensus candidate, affirmed his candidacy in a primary held at the Warri South PDP secretariat, Warri, where he was elected as the sole candidate through a unanimous voice vote.

PDP Returning/Electoral Officer, Mr. Uche Egbuche who handed Comrade Tidi the certificate of return in a brief ceremony, said the affirmation of Michael Tidi was based on the decision of consensus reached by members of the party in Warri South.

Egbuche noted that,”Only one person  bought form to contest for the Chairmanship position and that person is Michael Tidi.”

The PDP Chairman in Warri South Local Government Area, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe thanked the PDP Returning/Electoral Officer and promised to support and work towards the success of its affirmed candidate.

PDP Candidate, Mr. Michael Tidi thanked the party for the support and confidence reposed in him just as he assured delegates and people of the area of rebuilding Warri together with the efforts of his principal, Sen.(Dr.)Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa,Delta State Governor.

Tidi said that he is prepared to build on the legacies laid by the outgone chairman, Mr. Mofe Matthew Edema by improving on the internally  generated revenue as well as embarking on monthly environmental sanitation exercises and improve the general welfare of the people.

Present at the brief ceremony were the outgone Chairman of Warri South Council, Hon. Mofe Matthew Edema, Mr. Ada-Val Areyenka, Hon. Omimi Esquire, Dr. Austin Uroye, former Secretary of Warri South Council, Mr. Emiko Eminokanju and several others.

Tidi thanked all for the affirmation adding that he is overwhelmed by the support and together we will move the party forward.
