DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE EXPRESSES SHOCK OVER DEMISE OF PERMANENT SECRETARY

Mr Reginald Bayoko, Head of Service(HoS), Delta State has expressed shock over the death of Mr. Cletus Obiegba, Permanent Secretary(P. S.),Office of the Head of Service.

He expressed this shock when College of Permanent Secretaries paid him a condolence visit yesterday at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Bayoko described the deceased Mr. Obiegba as a core professional whose contribution to the development of the civil service could not be quantified.

Mr. Bayoko who expressed sadness over the sudden demise of the Permanent Secretary described him as an astute and meticulous man.

According to Mr. Bayoko, “no amount of words can express the grief we feel right now. It is a personal loss to me and a huge loss to the entire Civil Service but we however, take solace in the fact that the Lord knows best.”

Earlier, Sir. Austin Oghoro, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the State Government(S. S. G.) in his condolence message to the HOS said Mr Obiegba’s death who was one of them and the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service until his death, was a great loss to the state’s civil service.

Speaking further, Mr. Oghoro said that the visit was to condole with the HOS even as he prayed for God to give the staff of the office of the Head of Service the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Head of Service also led the Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Extra Ministerial Departments on a condolence visit to the residence of the late Mr. Obiegba where the deceased wife and members of his family were admonished to be strong and courageous in this trying times.

Speaking on behalf of the College of Permanent Secretaries, Dr. Chris Ukpe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing eulogized the late Obiegba and prayed for the repose of his soul.

Highpoints of the event which was conducted under strict NCDC guidelines was offering of prayers for the family and signing of the condolence register by the Head of Service.
