Speaking on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the school/inaugural mass for the 2015/2016 academic session, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Andrew Orogun, said the anniversary celebration takes the whole academic session and culminates with the graduation of the present SSS 111 class which will be known as the crystal class.

“Crystal is the vivid description of fifteen years anniversary celebration. The anniversary begins with this inaugural mass for the 2015/2015 academic session which was supposed to hold October 13, 2015, the founders day celebration,” the Principal said.

He stated that as the 15th anniversary is marked as a school community, the first page has been opened with the dawn of the first term, revealing that a Committee has been set up by him to plan out a calendar of celebrations marking the whole year’s activities.

Rev. Fr. Orogun enjoined staff and parents to corporate with the committee set up to ensure an interesting anniversary year.

According to him, all hands must be on deck to ensure that students are at their best at all times, adding that as Principal he has resolved to carry out his task diligently to foster academic excellence and work towards the realization of the vision of the school, making the students ready for life in an increasingly globalized world.

The Principal reiterated that there should be no use of the cane in the school community except in assembly ground, adding that; “However, we encourage that corporal punishment be used as much as possible to discipline erring students.”

“Due to the need to direct and guide our students as they grow to be responsible, the need for a school guidance counselor cannot be over-emphasized. To this effect, I announce and present to you our new school Guidance Counselor, Mr. George Maria Utibe, who has hitherto been a classroom teacher. Let us cooperate with him as staff and students.

The Principal warned against what he described as the growing trend of conspiracy, connivance, laxities and backbiting in school system, urging those involved to desist henceforth.

In his address, the Senior Prefect of the school, Eruse Oghenefega said he was proud to be associated with the school which according to him is now rated among the first class secondary schools in Delta State.

He employed fellow students “to cooperate with school prefects, house masters, and teachers who are not here to witch-hunt us but here to make us more responsible. Let us be studios in our studies knowing that our success is our pride. Let us avoid negative tendencies that could bring disrespect to the corporate image of our school.”

The Vice Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Peter Kosunye in his Homily, said the school has come a long way.

He described the school as one of the best secondary schools in Delta state.

Rev. Fr. Francis Ajagbra was the Chief celebrant at the occasion.
