Chairman of Warri South Council Area, Dr Michael Tidi, on Thursday congratulated the wife of the immediate past Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa, as she cloaks 62 years today, Thursday June 1, 2023

Tidi, in a press statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Francis Sadhere, described Dame Okowa as a virtuous woman, a celebrated mother, and a world acclaimed gender crusader.

Tidi said Dame Edith Okowa, during her stay as the first lady of Delta state, used her foundation, 05 Initiative, to helped thousands of Deltans especially women, who were suffering from various health relates issues.

He added that the former Governor’s wife has made visible impact and serious acclaim since it was established in 2015, thanks to her strength of character.

“I joined His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, and his lovely family to celebrate our amiable mother General and world acclaimed gender crusader, Dame Edith Okowa on the occasion of her birth anniversary.

“For those who have been following the political events in Delta, particularly in PDP, Mrs Okowa had played no small role in the successes recorded in our party today. She is providing the needed support to our leader, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa through her numerous people and gender based programs.

”Without mincing words, I want to say that Sen. Okowa, Delta, Nigeria, and of course, the Ika nation are lucky to have this amazing woman called Edith Okowa,” Tidi said.
