The Acting commissioner of police Bayelsa State, DCP Ahmed Bello has commended the Bayelsa state police command and the ministry of health for the arrest of one of the kidnappers of late Chief Adigin Eseni, from Nembe local government area of Bayelsa state, a cousin of the former Executive Governor of Bayelsa State. The Acting commissioner of police Bayelsa State, DCP Bello in a recent press briefing at the police command headquarters said, with a combine team of security agencies in Bayelsa state and men from the Bayelsa State ministry of health were led to a border town between Rivers and Bayelsa State near Kula Village, where a shallow grave was discovered.

On excavation, the body of late Chief Adigin Eseni, aged 87 years, who was earlier kidnapped on 28th July 2014 by unknown gun men, was exhumed from the shallow grave under the supervision of a senior pathologist from Bayelsa state ministry of Health. The corpse was removed and deposited at the Federal Medical Center Mortuary Yenagoa for autopsy; also the family members as well identify the corpse.

The Bayelsa Sate police command equally advised members of the public to be calm as the security agency in Bayelsa Sate are making frantic and concerted effort to apprehend the culprits, stressing that the command has delve in to the matter critically in apprehending other culprits to book as the law of kidnapping in the State would be implemented to the latter.

For the issue of the ransom paid to the kidnappers, the Acting commissioner of police said he did not confirmed any ransom paid, except the family can attest, so DCP Ahmed Bello added.
