The national congressman for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Chief Solomon Awhinawhi has hailed the leadership of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU,  for conferring the title “Ochuko Ru Urhobo” (Helper of Urhobo Nation) on the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.

In his congratulatory message to the Governor, Hon. Awhinawhi said the honour is absolutely well deserved, noting that the Urhobo Nation has benefited a lot from the Okowa administration.

The Federal lawmaker stressed that Governor Okowa has sited at least one  development project in almost every ward in Urhoboland, many of which have been completed while several others are near completion, with deliberate plans to develop every nook and cranny of Delta Central.

He explained that Governor Okowa has also favoured the Urhobos in terms of appointments, noting that he gave  Urhobo sons and daughters key and juicy positions in his cabinet.

Hon. Awhinawhi commended the UPU led by Olorogun Moses Taiga for the recognition, stressing that it will naturally spur the Governor to do more for the Urhobo Nation.

He eulogized Olorogun Moses Taiga and members of his Executive for their efforts in taking the Urhobo Nation to lofty and enviable heights.

The Izomo of Agbarho Kingdom also commended traditional rulers in Urhoboland for their support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and urged them to sustain it.

He described Governor Okowa as a son of Urhobo Nation and appealed to his constituents and the Delta Central people in particular as well as to all Deltans in general to reciprocate the love and warmth shown to them by voting en masse for the return of His Excellency in 2019.

He promised to continue to work with Governor Okowa in order to attract more development projects to his Constituency.
