Representatives of the Adadja Communities Development Union lead by Comr. Origbo Ejiro within the week described the appointment of Chief Amos Itihwe as “a square peg in a square pole” during their congratulatory visit paid to the DESOPADEC Commissioner.

Speaking on behalf of the ACDU, the secretary Hon. Freeborn Ovwemejepha thanked his Excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the appointment of Chief Amos Itihwe as Commissioner representing Ughelli South, Udu, Uvwie and Urhobos of Warri South in the board of DESOPADEC.

He also used the opportunity to express appreciation from the Adadja Communities to chief Itihwe for bringing DESOPADEC Zonal office to Udu and the quick intervention made with respect to the bad spot on the Ubogo / ogboudu road which was more or less like a borrow pit but now people drive pass with ease as DESOPADEC through the effort of chief Itihwe has given it a face lift in fulfillment of Okowa’s SMART agenda.

They also express their readiness to partner with the government by given their support to ensure development of their communities.

In furtherance of their bid for community development, the following were presented to the honourable Commissioner for consideration to further ease the pains of the people: Installation of street light at Emadadja, Ubogo, Obubu, Ekrota, Ugbisi, and Ukperhere Communities, Provision of Water in all the Communities as mentioned above, Construction of six class room block at Adadja Secondary School Emadadja, Construction of six Class room blocks at Ubogo Secondary School, Ubogo.

Others are: Construction of four(4) quarter road in Emadadja, namely : Ator, Iwhreni, Asanovwe, and Ekrovie respectively, Construction of Ekrota and Ekperhere road, Rehabilitation of the existing six (6) Class room block at Adadja Secondary School, Emadadja, Construction / Equipment of a staffroom Block at Adadja Secondary School, Emadadja, Construction / Equipment of Laboratory Block at Adadja Secondary School Emadadja, Rehabilitation of Four (4) classroom Block at Emadadja Primary School, Emadadja and Construction / Equipment of a Staffroom Block at Ubogo Secondary School.

Chief Itihwe while responding to the presentation made by the Adadja Communities Development Union thanked them for the visit stating that they are the first group of persons coming to thank him for bringing DESOPADEC Zonal Office to Udu and the work done by DESOPADEC on the Ubogo / Ogboudu road in Udu Local Government.

He stated that Okowa’s administration will ensure that the plight of the people is well looked into as far as the available resources will carry.

He called on the people to be law abiding, peaceful and prayerful so as to attract development to their communities stating that insecurity and instability drives away development and that the commission will not identify with any community that is not ready to maintain peace.
