The Delta State Police Command has deployed 5885 personnel to strategic locations across the state ahead of Easter celebration.

The deployment also covered places of worship, recreation centres to ensure crime and hitch free celebration in the state.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali made the disclosure yesterday in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

The Police boss rejoiced with the Christian Community as they have their annual Easter Celebration which commemorates the crucifixion, burial and the eventual resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He enjoined Christian leaders within the state to ensure that, throughout the services, all Christian faithfuls keep to Covid-19 protocols in their various places of worship to help the state in its fight to keep at its barest minimum the cases of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Ali implored citizens of Delta State to cooperate with officers deployed assuring that they are under instruction to be civil, polite but firm in ensuring the security and safety of travelers and other road users throughout the state.
