Late hour intervention from George Turner Foundation has brightened the hearts of 87 students studying various courses at the Federal University, Otuoke in Bayelsa State whose academic year would have been hindered by lack of school fees payment.

The school authority has slated the 6th day of March 2015 as the deadline for payment of fees, but on hearing of it, the George Turner Foundation that is funded by Barr. George Turner intervened on the last day and paid up the monies which amounted to N5, 641 000.

George Turner, who was represented by Abali Nelson, noted that, when they heard that about 87 students attending the Federal University, Otuoke stand the risk of losing their admission if they were unable to pay their fees after March 6th, they went to the campus empowered to get the fees paid at no further cost on them.

Speaking for himself, Nelson Abali said that he has never heard of this kind of gesture where a foundation will move to campus on the last day of payment of fees and pay the fees at no further cost on them.

He appreciated George Turner for his well directed benevolence, praying God to grant him success in all his deeds.

Abali said that, when they got to the campus, they went around all the blocks; announcing that all those who haven’t paid their fees should come out, that there was a lifeline for them from George Turner Foundation.

While expressing gratitude to the George Turner Foundation for its kind gesture, Eze Inisaziba from Computer Science Dept. who was among the beneficiaries, lauded the foundation and prayed God to bless George Turner in all that he does, adding that other prominent politicians should emulate from what has been done.

Also, Bebra Tam, a 200 level student of Computer Science Dept, stated that; “we were about to lose our admission due to lack of payment of fees, if not for the timely intervention from the foundation. I am very grateful.”
