Members of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP ) in the South South region have been called upon to partner with people from other other regions in ensuring that the party regain and maintain its dominance in 2019 general elections.

The Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, made the call in Port- Harcourt,  Rivers State, when he led PDP top political leaders from Delta State in a consultative meeting with Election Review Sub-Committee of the party that is in charge of the South South and South East region.

Barr. Otuaro said the meeting was to xray all the challenges that culminated in the failure of the party at the Presidential election and other elections this year as well as fashion out ways to regain lost ground in 2019.

He lauded the leadership of the party for constituting the committees to  cover the entire country and expressed hope that PDP would provide purposeful leadership for the country in 2019. “I believe like every one here, that our party, PDP, will of course bounce back and get much more stronger than it was, if we follow what we are poised to do by doting the i’s and crossing the t’s, recognising were we have gotten it wrong and effectively making positive corrections”. Barr. Otuaro stated.

The deputy governor urge all aggrieved members of the party to sink their differences and work for the success of the party, pointing out that no other political party can bring the needed transformation to the country apart from the PDP.

He charged the leadership of the party to spare no effort in ensuring that all ills that gave birth to its downfall were addressed to  the advantage of all. According to him, the reward of repositioning effort will start yieding results in the up coming governorship elections in some states where it was not held.

The Chairman of the PDP Sub-Committee in charge of the South South and South East Geo- political Zones, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, said their mission was to cross fertilise ideas with stakeholders on ways to bring about a new PDP that will take over from the ruling party.

Senator Makarfi said over one hundred memorandum has been received at the party’s secretariat, Abuja, stressing that the consultative meeting would offer first hand information on the causes of the problem and a better way to regain number one position in the country.

He lauded the deputy governor and other political leaders from Delta State for their resilience in ensuring the success of the party and enjoined them to redouble their support.

The meeting was in consonance with the National Working Committee reslove to reposition the party to serve Nigerians better.
