Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi, has extolled the virtues of Nigeria’s former Information Minister, Pa Edwin Clark, on the occasion of his 94th birthday anniversary.

Mr Francis Sadhere, the Chairman’s Special Assistant on Media, in a statement in Warri on Tuesday, said Tidi paid tribute to Chief Clark, who served as Information Minister during the regime of General Yakubu Gowon

Tidi described the octogenarian as a man of strong convictions who does not hesitate to speak his mind on national issues.

The Warri South council boss, also described Pa Clark as a strong advocate of restructuring, true federalism, resource control and a better Nigeria.

He commended Clark’s unwavering patriotism and relentless pursuit of the unity of the country, particularly his maturity in speaking for the good of all Nigerians and promoting the South-South quest for a new developmental vision.

Tidi said “as an elder statesman, a legal luminary, political leader, activist per excellence, defender of peoples’ rights, and former commissioner of old Midwest State, Pa Clark has continued to show his commitment to the unity of Nigeria.

“On behalf of my family and the good people of Warri South Local Government Area, I heartily felicitate with you, your family and join your friends, associates and innumerable admirers to celebrate with you on your birthday and wish you good health and greater prosperity in the years ahead.

“We pray that God continues to give you the grace to live more years ahead so that you would continue to serve as a reservoir of knowledge and wisdom to be tapped by the present crop of youths, elites, and elders.

Pa Edwin Clark was born on 25 May 1927 in Erunwarin, Ughelli South Local Government of Delta State.
