Youth wing of the Isoko Development Union (IDU) under the auspices of Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) led by its President General Comrade, Victor Egbo, held a thanksgiving service at the Saint Paul Anglican Church, Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, thanking God for a successful election and subsequent swearing in ceremony of the National Executives and those of various clans and branches.

The thanksgiving which was tagged ‘victory and unity thanksgiving’ saw several youth leaders across the Niger Delta and beyond turn out en mass to celebrate with their Isoko brothers who before now had been in disarray with many youth factions.

The occasion was also graced by the President General of Isoko Development union (IDU), Major Gen. Paul Ufuoma Omu and the Women’s Wing President, Ambassador Caroline Usikpedo Omoniye, Ijaw Youth President, Comrade Esimage Jemide, Yoruba Youth President, the Warri Chapter of INYA led by Comrade Omokero Emmanuel, Comrade Dibbi, Comr. Joram Utukpe and Isoko Youth Patron, Chief Brooklyn.

President, Isoko Nation Youth Assembly, Comrade Victor Egbo, in his address told the mammoth crowd that Isoko youth were thanking God for uniting them together as one body and restoring peace to the youths whom have been in factions for so long and for the peaceful conduct of the elections and the successful inauguration of the new executive of Isoko youth wing of IDU by Gen. Paul Omu.

He said “Isoko youth under my leadership will be more united as I am putting everything in place to see that all aggrieved youths come together as I promise to run an open door administration. With unity and cooperation whatever Isoko youths demands for can be achieved, but in disunity we cannot succeed.”

Comrade Egbo who was overwhelmed by the large turnout of Isoko youths, commended all the people who came to celebrate with Isoko youths especially the Ijaw youth leaders and others as he prayed to God to grant them journey mercy to their various destination.

On his part, Gen. Paul Omu, IDU President General advised the youth executives to sustain the momentum of peace that is fast coming to Isoko nation, urging them to come together without discrimination saying that if the Isoko youths come together in one mind, it will not be difficult for them to achieve what they desire.

He admonished INYA executives to lead by example, by living a life worthy of emulation as to encourage the entire Isoko youths that IDU put under their care to lead. He further urged every youth leader to have the spirit of humility charging them to always humble and respect everyone or group under them both old and young to enhance smooth running of their administration.

In a chat with journalist, Chief Brooklyn, Isoko Youth Patron challenged the present leadership of Isoko National youth Assembly to awake up from slumber to chart a self-determined course of action and take the Isoko nation forward. He also called on them to refuse to be mere appendage in a Senatorial District where they ought to be equal developmental partners.
