Chairmen of  Gbararmatu Communities in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State have made it very clear to the Itsekiris that they were not afraid of the purported Deghele Declaration.

The chairman of oil rich Kokodiagbene Community, Gbararmatu Kingdom, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, speaking on behalf of the chairmen of Gbararmatu Communities, described the Deghele Declaration as watery.

The Ijaws, he said, were  aware of the plans of the Itsekiris to attacks oil installations in their areas so as  to attract the attention of Federal Government, International community, particularly security agents to put “our communities under siege to enable them launch attack on our communities.”

According to him; “Deghele Declaration is a cheap political cry to attract undue  sympathy to sustain their lies, we therefore implore  them not to beat the drums of  war again, we need to work together for the development of our areas”.

“Itsekiris  should realize now that they are responsible for the  several crises  that have lead to the under development of Warri and it’s environs because of their fictitious, frivolous and fraudulent Kangaroo claims and cooked up judgements  through impostors of Itsekiris on our land”, he said.

He   strongly advised their  Itsekiri neighbours to learn to leave in peace and forget their  unnecessary ethnic pride, adding that;”The Itsekiris  should not  make us regret harbouring and accommodating them; we believe you know your origin from Benin in Edo State. Nigerians and the international community are already aware of your fake claims of people’s territory as land grabbers, we are not planning to evacuate or drive you from our territory, our forefathers accommodated you people as settlers and friends which we will equally extend to the present generation of Itsekiris in Gbaramatu kingdom. Deghele Declaration is baseless and watery”
