ANENIH DEMISE: A GREAT LOSS TO NIGERIA, PDP—MULADE
A Niger Delta environmental rights activist and the National Coordinator, Center For Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has described the demise of former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Board of Trustee Chairman, BOT, Chief Tony Anenih as a great loss to Nigeria and PDP.
We gathered that Anenih, who have been ill for an undisclosed period of time died at the Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja, at the age of 85. Born on August 4, 1933, in Uzenema-Arue in Uromi, Anenih joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1951 in Benin City. He attended the police college in Ikeja, and was selected for further training in the Bramshill Police College, Basingstoke, England in 1966 and the International Police Academy, Washington DC in 1970.
Comrade Mulade in a statement released on Sunday night when the passage of the Edo born Ishan politician was made known said, “Late Chief Anenih was a pillar to the formation of PDP and contributed his quota to good governance in Edo State and Nigeria at large”.
Reacting to his death, Sheriff Mulade extended his condolences to the Anenih’s family, PDP, Community and friends as he prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Mulade further added that the legacy of late Tony Anenih will remain indelible by PDP and Nigerians at large, as this is the time his contribution to good governance in our country was much needed
