Chairman, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, Hon Micheal Tidi on Monday swore-in five supervisors with a charge on them to hit the ground running.

Tidi who administered the oath of office on the new supervisors, urged them to discharge their duties to best of their abilities.

The five Supervisors are; Linda Ikpuri (Education), Henry Mayukun, (Agriculture), Patricia Edun, (Environment), Gbeneso Shegul, (Youths, sports and community Development) and Okpako Elvis (Health).

While congratulating the Supervisors, Tidi lamented that youth in the council area pride themselves out of jobs, stressing that there are many job opportunities for the youths to take advantage of.

He said the job of a supervisor is not a tea party adding that they have to work hard to ensure they help build the council to enviable height.

“I want you to see this task as service to you fatherland. You must hit the ground running. As you already know, since we came into office we have been working very hard to move the council forward. You must abreast your self with our manifesto so that we can deliver on our mandate to the people,” Tidi added.

Tidi said the council wants to improve on the environment and make it better than they met it vowing that very soon the council will be the talk of the town.

The Warri South Council boss urged the new Supervisors to do their utmost in ensuring that all leakages are blocked in their various departments, adding that this will improve the revenue drive of the council.

“This is not tea party and I believe that you can do the job perfectly well and this is why we decided to take you for the job. I have gone through all your CVs and I know you are qualified for the job.

” Please you must work with us. You should not place too much emphasis on money because you all know that our economy is not too good.

“There is no money in the council. It is not all about come and it alone, it is about come and work too. When you work hard you will definitely receive your reward. You must ensure that all leakages are blocked in you various assignments because we need to increase our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Responding on behalf of the Supervisors, Linda Ikpuri thanked the chairman for appointing them as Supervisors in the various departments promising to carry out their duties according to the mandate of the council.
