In a vibrant celebration of the Easter holiday, members of the Warri Rebirth Initiative (WRI) came together on Monday at their Secretariat in Ometan Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State for a festive gathering filled with camaraderie and goodwill.

Led by Chairman Mr. Kess Agbosa, the event saw the attendance of not only WRI members but also Warri old boys and girls who joined in the festivities. Mr. Agbosa took the opportunity to express his gratitude to all attendees while emphasizing the core priorities of the group: peace, unity, environmental sanitation, and infrastructural development.

Highlighting the essence of the Warri Rebirth Initiative, Mr. Agbosa stressed the importance of transcending ethnic divides that have emerged over the years. He reminisced about a time in the 1950s and 60s when tribe was not a divisive factor in Warri but rather a unifying one, fostering a sense of community akin to one big family.

“With the rise of ethnic tensions in subsequent decades, we lost that sense of unity and togetherness,” stated Mr. Agbosa, underscoring the need to recreate the harmonious coexistence of the past.

Encouraging the residents of Warri to uphold peace in the region, Mr. Agbosa highlighted its pivotal role in attracting further development to Warri and its surrounding areas, envisioning a brighter future for the community.

Adding to the discourse, Public Relations Officer Mr. Patrick Origho outlined the non-political nature of the Warri Rebirth Initiative, established in 2009 with a primary goal of fostering unity among the diverse inhabitants of Warri.

Mr Origho revealed that they have numbers of activities especially for the youths inorder to transform them to better persons in the society.

To ensure sustenance of peace in Warri and environs , Mr Origho revealed that the group had interacted with the various traditional rulers in Warri which has yielded positive results .

The chairman of the occasion Professor Peter Eruotor while welcoming the Warri old boys and girls thanked them for always spreading the good message of peaceful coexistence among residents in Warri .

Prof Eruotor who is also a member of the group assured that Warri will get back it’s old glory.

The Easter get-together, featured a pep talk by Professor Temi Akporhonor with the topic Random Yapping .

Professor Akporhonor who expressed worry over some of the ills in the society to included Get rich quick syndrome by youths ,recent killing of soldiers at Okuama and reprisal , Professors not accorded the real recognition in the society, the notion that Education is a scam , the alarming rate of insecurity in the nation , herders-farmers clash, yahoo and yahoo plus amongst the youths , insincerity by some politicians and pastors,Japa syndrome amongst others.

While commending the Warri Rebirth Initiative for fostering peace and unity among the people of Warri , Professor Akporhonor challenged the executive of Warri Rebirth Initiative not to relent in it’s oars but ensure that the aims and objectives of the group is achieved.

The Easter get-together featured live band and other dude attractions to keep those present happy as there was so much to eat and drink.

The Easter get-together served as a platform for members to reaffirm their commitment to promoting a unified and prosperous future for Warri, transcending ethnic barriers and embracing a shared vision of progress and development.

As the spirit of Easter permeated the gathering, the message of unity and collaboration echoed loud and clear, signaling a renewed sense of purpose and solidarity among the members of the Warri Rebirth Initiative.
