A  Reporter with The POINTER newspaper Chief Voke Uvwie and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Chief Albert Akpomudje were among other dignatories recently conferred with Chieftaincy titles by HRM Agbanovwe Afugbeya Oyesi II, the Odio R’ Ode of Uwheru Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the State.

The Conferment which took place at the palace of the traditional ruler was as glamorous as persons from all walks of lives were in attendance for the first conferment of Chieftancy titles by Oyesi II, who himself was coronated recently by the Council of Chiefs of the kingdom and with the presentation of the Staff of office by the State Government on April 29th 2016.

While Conferring the various Chieftancy titles on the new Chiefs which also include Chief and Chief (Mrs) David Obrude, the Uwheru Royal Father, who was assisted by his Council of Chiefs, charged the newly conferred Chiefs to be good Ambassadors of Uwheru Kingdom in particular and the Urhobo Nation in general.

The Uwheru monarch also noted that as Chiefs of the Kingdom and by extension the Urhobo Nation, the new Chiefs must and conduct themselves in a manner bith in their private and public lives that would bring glory to the Kingdom.

5He further eulogies the amiable Governor of the State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his developmental strides to the state since he (Governor) assures office as the states helmsman.

HRM Agbanovwe  Afugbeya Oyesi II also appealed to the state government to extend its benevolence to Uwheru kingdom so as to rank among the comity of other growing kingdoms in Urhobo land and Delta State in general.

4In his post conferment speech, Chief Voke Uvwie, a veteran and ace reporter with the Pointer Newspaper said he was grateful to his HRM Agbanovwe Afugbeya Oyesi II, the Odio R’ Ode of Uwheru Kingdom for the honour done him with the conferment of Chieftency title and pledged to bring his experience as a media expert to bare that would bring about developmental strides to the Uwheru kingdom.

Chief Voke Uvwie, who was conferred with the title as the Ugherughe of Uwheru kingdom and was flanked by his wife Aduviekeya Patience Uvwie also expressed his gratutide to his home Ovie,HRM Emmanuel Sideso (JP) OON, Abe the first of Uvwie kingdom for his Royal approval for the conferment of his Chieftaincy title and also pledged to be good ambassador to the Uvwie kingdom.

The Ugherughe of Uwheru kingdom was also grateful to his father, Chief (Engr) Andrew Uvwie, the Odibokporo of Uvwie kingdom for his supportive roles that translated to the realization of his Chieftaincy status.
