Special Adviser on Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan has emerged the new president of the Nigeria’s premier recreation centre, Warri Club, Delta State.

Mr. Vincent Uduaghan whose emergence, weekend, came without opposition, said he intends to turn the fortunes of the club around to meet the challenges of the social life of the oil city and solicited the support of members to enable him succeed in the task ahead.

The new Management Committee has Mr. Saturday Timinimi as Vice-President, Barr. Fred Olokor as secretary and Mr. Douglas Etioja Otite as Sports Secretary amongst other members.

Speaking after being sworn as the new president of the management committee, Mr. Uduaghan, a former PDP House of assembly aspirant charged his exco members to be up and doing as he would not want to be associated with failure from any angle saying he is prepared to fall out with any one that drags the team set goals backwards.

He said assumption to the clubs’ executive position is not about drinking but about making meaningful contribution towards to upliftment of the standards of the club to keep it at par with other clubs of similar status in the country, saying that most times members of the management committee would be required to deep their hands into their private pocket to finance certain areas of immediate need, even as he commended the immediate past president, Engr. Peter Arubi for the matured leadership skills exhibited during his tenure  and the way he succeeded in bringing the club to its current standards wherein some of the dilapidated infrastructures have been brought back to life and functioning very well.

He further charged members to always meet up with their financial obligations to the club, saying that is the only way the recreational facilities desired by them for their social well being and health can be brought to fruition for their benefits.

Engr. Peter Arubi who admonished the new president to be very patient in handling the affairs of the club said it takes a high degree of maturity, experience and managerial sagacity to pilot a club like the Warri Club expressing regret that tribalism is the bane that it dragging the fortunes and prosperity of the club backward.
