Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr Michael Tidi has commended Masters Place International Church for the facelift of Warri City Stadium, venue of its, ‘Super Sunday Service’ programme held on Sunday 27 February 2022.

Tidi who was accompanied to the programme alongside his Uvwie Local Government Area counterpart, Ramsey Onoyake, while speaking to journalist shortly before the end of the programme, appreciated the founder of the church, Pastor Korede Komaiya, for bringing the stadium back to life.

He said that what Pastor Komaiya did was very commendable as it is the first of it’s kind in the history of the state.

He therefore, used the opportunity to call on other well spirited men of God to take a queue from what Masters Place International Church has done and not leave everything for the government alone.

“So I am short of words to appreciate this gesture. On behalf of Warri South Local Government and Uvwie Local Government and Deltans, I want to say we are grateful, first, to God Almighty for his provision, the man of God and the family of Masters Place International Church.

“I believe Warri and environs will not remain the same going by what we are seeing here today. We are a people equally led by the holy spirit to spend our time today. This shows the kind of premium we placed on the things of God.

“My colleague and I want to use this opportunity to call on all well-spirited individuals, especially those from the household of God, to take a queue from what this man of God is doing today.

“It’s quite commendable what you have done about the stadium. I have directed that a later should be written to His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State and I believe this letter will be on his table before he returns from his leave.

“I also told the Delta State Sports Commission to write a letter of commendation to Masters Place International Church, for what you have done in the stadium, because it’s not enough to be amplifying those challenges that we see around the body of Christ. You are doing a lot today but not much is being said about what we are doing in the house of God. This is one of such big things that the household of God has done and we must amplify it.

“As a man of God myself, I must join the man of God to amplify what he has done and I really commend him,” Tidi said.

On the items donated at the programme, the Warri South Council Boss equally commended pastor Komaiya for the gesture, saying “I believe if everyone of us has been reaching out in our own little way, this thing called poverty would have long being addressed.”

Dr Tidi also commended leadership of the communities playing host to the stadium for their support in ensuring that the programme holds peacefully without any hitches.

“I also went to commend the community chairman of Elders Town for the way and manner they comported themselves. This was not the case before we took over affairs of government. Before now It was so difficult to come here to watch a football match. It’s either you are assualted or one thing or the other. But today the reverse is the case. So I just commend all of them,” Tidi added.

On his part, chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Hon. Ramsey Onoyake said, “I am not surprised by this Super Sunday Service today because I am part of the family. Like I said before now, I pray that this programme should continue and also come to my local government.

“Today I have come to rejoice with my brother. I pray too that the next one, he will come and rejoice with me. I also want to appreciate all of you for joining the man of God to ensure that this programme is successful.

“I believe that this is just the beginning. Every person that give out always receive back from God. I pray that God will continue to grant you your hearts desire and the Ministry will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
