Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta, Dr Michael Tidi, on Thursday tasked education officers in the state to continue to render selfless services to the people in their respective council areas.

Tidi gave this charge when the Unified Local Government Education Association, Delta State Chapter, paid him courtesy visit.

Tidi said one of the basic functions of government include educational development which, according to him, the education officers are helping to promote.

“One of the basic functions of government is educational development, and that is where you people come in.

“I want to encourage you to continue to render your selfless services to your people because it’s the legacy you left behind that the people will look up to while you are no longer in service,” the Warri South council chairman said.

He assured the association that his doors are always open to them.

Earlier, Mr Otomi S.N, Assistant Director of Education, Anoicha Local Government Area, and chairman of the association, who spoke on behalf of the association, said they decided to pay the council chairman a courtesy visit since the council is hosting members of the association to a meeting.

The Warri South Council’s Head of Department on Education, Mrs Helen Bazunu, led other members of the association to the office of the council chairman.
