Comrade Sheriff Mulade

 

Delta State House of Assembly aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has advised mischief makers to stop using his name to promote their aspirants.

Mulade who gave this warning in a statement made available to The National Reformer in Warri today, was reacting to a publication regarding prominent political stalwarts who have allegedly declared a move to boycott Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper.

The publication alleged that the politicians have taken a decision not to patronize the Gbaramatu Voice newspapers due to their overt and tacit support for Comrade Mulade’s House of Assembly bid.

But Mulade, according to the statement, said, “In all ramifications, I comrade Mulade Sheriff disclaim the publication of today where my name was mentioned on the Gbaramatu Voice newspaper.”

He added that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primaries buildup in Warri South West local government area of Delta State, it may not be out of place for political crusaders who want to be noticed or be a part of the political calculations, to use his name for personal gains.

He added that it was not in his character to hire people with sinister motives to puncture the peaceful political climate of Warri South West Local Government area of Delta State.

The statement reads, “It is pertinent to state and advise aspirants and their media cohorts not to use my name as hub of discussion to promote their aspirants. I will advise they should engage on issues based campaign rather than dragging my name into unnecessary issues to find favour and impress their leaders.

“There was never a time that Comrade Mulade Sheriff gave permission for anyone to put up any publication in respect of Gbaramatu Voice newspaper on issues of victimisation by major political figures in Warri South West Local Government.

“The Gbaramatu Voice newspaper has often been diligent in their reportage.

“I am quite unaware of any claims from all the parties involved. The newspaper house (Gbaramatu voice) to the best of my knowledge has creatively and constructively been the voice of our people.

“I have been hard working, carrying out my core professional duties having no time being aligned with primitive gossips and publications that could subvert our collective drive as a
people.

“The Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper is an objective and authoritative mouth piece of the Ijaw nation and to the best of my knowledge, the newspaper has not given any sign or reason for me to doubt their authenticity.

“The recent publication which claims that certain politicians will sanction the Gbaramatu newspaper for their support in furthering my political quest is not from me and my campaign organisation.

“I am the hub of democratic norms and practices in Warri South West.

“I am exemplary in my conducts and I take delight in the promotion of our sociocultural norms and values.

“I am a man of equity and that is why in my NGO I promote environmental justice and peace.

“The man that promotes peace and equity will not be divisive and create a bridge of dichotomy with the peopl

“I am in good standing and talking terms with our political leaders who function at both state and local levels of government.

“My interest to serve the people is born out of my desire to contribute to the development of my immediate constituency.

“I hold the interest of my people dearly to my heart. For very many years I have been a vanguard of a better environment and good governance for our people.

“My vying for the house of Assembly are not for pecuniary gains but for an ardent desire to adequately give good representation to my people in Warri South West.”

Mulade added that he has lived a selfless life which places people first and not his individual gain.

He said he has no doubt that the Warri South West primaries will be very free and fair, adding that nobody should write and link such distasteful writeup to his person again.
