Muslims in Delta State and Nigeria have been called upon to pray for their leaders, saying that reigning abuses on them will not solve Nigeria’s problems but rather, they will incur the wrath of God.

Speaking to our correspondent today, after the Eid-el Fitr prayers at the Naval Barrack Mosque, a member of the Delta Muslims Indigenes Association, Sadiq Oniyesaneyene Musa, urged Muslims to remember the period of Ramadan that has just ended and change their minds towards their leaders.

He said; “The month of Ramadan is a period in which prayers are answered and a period of multiple rewards for good deed. So anything we say to them that is bad will come back to us. Let us fear Allah (God), be you Muslims or Christians. Let us change our mind toward our leaders for us to achieve that desired “Change” Delta State and Nigeria need.

“The Qu’ran and the Bible agree on this fact, Believe in God, believe in the Prophets and Obey people in Authority. It pains me when people insult our leaders, don’t you think we have violated the words of Allah (God) when we disobey our leaders? Let us not sin against Allah because our leaders are not there by their power but it is the destiny of Allah. We all must believe in them. Don’t you think GOD is aware of their Leadership? They need our prayers at this time more than ever,” he said.

Wishing all Muslims a blessed Eid-el Fitr, Sadiq said; “I wish all Muslims a blessed Eid-el Fitr. May the Almighty Allah bless us all with contentment, peace & spiritual upliftment during this festive period. May Allah give Delta State and Nigeria guaranteed security and give our leaders the power and wisdom to lead Delta State.”

At the Delta Navy Base Mosque, Warri, the Commanding Officer of the NNS Delta, Commodore Mohammed Garba said; “To our Muslim brothers in the service, we should have the fear of Allah in whatever we do. Most especially too, we should have the fear of Allah in our service to Nigeria. We must also make sure that we remain committed to the strategic guidance of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Joseph Ezeoba, which is anchored on zero tolerance on illegal bunkering in our waterways.”

On his part, the Chief Imam of Delta Navy Base Mosque, Warri, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, averred that; “This fasting that we have just concluded is an obligation given to us by Allah. It is on the Holy Quran telling us that fasting is compulsory for us and that we are obligated to do it. Let us keep Allah in view of whatever we do. By the grace of God this country is going to be better because our problem in this country is that we lack the fear of Allah and injustice. But when we have the fear of Allah everything is going to be alright.”
