The Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC, Edo State Command has assured Road Users and Travelers in the state of reducing road crash, death and injuries as the ember-month sets in.

The submission was revealed exclusively to National Reformer by the Sector Commander, Engineer Teminolu Oluwasose to reaffirm the Commission’s preparedness in the forthcoming yuletide period in the state.

Engineer Oluwasose spoke while addressing key issues that borders on commuters safety during the festive periods adding that in view of more road users within the period, it was done on them to establish more units to ensure that responses to incidences are limited.

According to him, “Since I came in late last year I have been able to established more units. Presently, we have opened up, Abudu Unit Command, Uromi Unit Command, and Okpila Unit Command. Ofosu Unit has also been approved. The whole essence of it all is to ensure that our response time is limited. By our crash records, I have been able to crack the number of crises even though death occurrence; compares to what it is before now. So as we close up our festive period, we expect to see more people travels across the state.

However, the Command Sector Boss stressed that more emphasis should be focused on reducing death rate caused by accidents, pointing out that they have worked tirelessly towards eradicating death; through enlightenment programs set up with various media organization to educate the minds of the road users on road signs placed at strategic locations.
