ROYALTY: JUBILATIONS IN BENIN AS CROWNED PRINCE INSTALLED EDAIKEN N’ USELU

The Oba of Benin Heir Apparent, Crown Prince Eheneden Eredaiuwa, hasbeen formally installed as the Edaiken N’Uselu in Benin City.
The event which was out judged historic had the Benin Royal Princejourneyed from his private residence, to Edaiken Palace,otherwiseknown as Egua Edaiken N’ Uselu,with various ancestral rites performed.
It would be recalled that, the crowned prince was recently initiatedinto the Iwebo palace society which is the most senior of the palacesociety amongst others as part of preparation for the coronationceremony.
The Ceremony had the Crowned Prince walked bare footed through majorstreets within the metropolis to the ancestral Egua Edaiken,where hewill resides for a period of time to complete the cycle of thetraditional rites before his enthronement.Prior to his installations as the Edaiken N’ Uselu, series of riteswere carried out at the Palace of the Oba of Benin in commemorationwith the culture of the land.
The ceremony which describes the rich culture of the Benin Dynastyattracted prominent Traditional rulers, palace chiefs, governmentfunctionaries, market women, Top Politicians, the civil societiesamongst others across the length and breath of the state.Earlier,Edo State Governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole paid obeisance to theCrown Prince of Benin Kingdom, HRH Prince Eheneden Erediauwa after hisofficial installation as Edaiken N’Uselu, on Saturday
