The results of Saturdays, local government council elections in 22 local government areas in Delta State have been announced by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sweeping all the chairmanship positions.

In demonstration of transparency, the returning officers of the various council areas for the election announced the council’s results before the watchful eyes of officials of DSIEC, election observers and newsmen coordinated by the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Mose Ogbe, at DSIEC headquarters, Asaba.

The results show PDP sweeping all the chairmanship positions in all the local government areas already announced excerpt in Ethiope East where the result was declared inconclusive and Ndokwa East where election did not hold following a report from the Chief Electoral officer and Chief Returning officer attached to the council areas.

Ogbe said while the chairmanship result in Isoko South is being awaited, the councillorship results in all the wards in the state are being collated in the commission and will be announced through press release as soon as possible.

The PDP candidates for Ethiope West, Solomon Golley and Patani Local Government Areas, Josephine Abeki were declared returned unopposed by the DSIEC Boss, who said no other political party fielded candidate for the electoral contest.

Those declared so far include, Warri South, Mofe Edema, PDP, with total of 80,883 votes to beat other contestants, Ughelli North, Kenneth Ibru, PDP, with the highest score of 88, 415; Oshimili South, Chucks Obusom, PDP scored 18,226 to emerge winner and Ukwani, Benedicta Osakwuni, PDP scored 10,904 to also emerge the winner in the contest.

Others include, Warri South-West, PDP, Goerge Ekpemukpolo, scored,79,938 to be declared; Oshimili North, Louise Ndukwe, PDP, 23,676 votes to emerge winner; Aniocha South, PDP Isaac Anwuzia scored 17,699 to emerge first position; Ndokwa West, Ifeanyi Osakwe, PDP, scored 58,288 to emerge victorious; Udu, Solomon Kpomah, PDP, got a total votes of 36,727 to emerge winner and Okpe PDP Godwin Ejeyere scored 30,043 votes to emerge winner.

Also announced were Ika South, Fredrick Ofume PDP, 15,175 votes to emerge winner; Bomadi, PDP, Oluwole Karetimi scored 65,917 to be declared winner; Warri North, Francis Maku, PDP, scored 55,123 votes to emerge victorious; Uvwie Henry Baro, PDP, scored 11,397 votes to emerge winner; Burutu, Ebikeme Clark, PDP, got 62,262 votes to emerge winner; Ika North East, Francis Ebonka, PDP scored 62,118 votes to emerge winner.
