Chief Dan Orbih made this statement in Benin City on the occasion of the women empowerment ceremony organized by the Ogbeide-Ihama Foundation, a pet project of Hon, Engr. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, member representing Oredo Federal Constituency at the Lower Chambers of the National Assembly.

The State PDP chairman lauded the initiative of the Hon. Ogbeide-Ihama to empower women in Oredo constituency with cash and other business boosting implements including cars, motorcycles, sewing machines etc. He said that the party was proud of him for his performance and achievement so far.

Chief Orbih stated that he was personally gratified to have supervised a party primary that produced Ogbeide-Ihama among other performing PDP members at the National Assembly. He therefore recommended the PDP governorship candidate for the forthcoming Edo State governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu whom he said has a proven record of performance and a vision to take Edo State to the desired level of development.

Similarly, Engr. Ogbeide-Ihama enjoined the women gathered to rally round Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu just as they did for him during his election in 2015. He said that with Ize-Iyamu as governor he would be in a better position to do more for his constituents.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu Floors Governor Oshiomhole for his lack of seriousness to the issue of security

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has taken a swipe at the Edo State Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for his lack of seriousness towards tackling insecurity in the state in spite of the enormous amount he collects monthly as security vote.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu condemned the levity and avariciousness of the APC governor, in his round of campaign visits to some stakeholder groups in Benin City which include the Edo Mass Movement, Uwelu Spare Parts Traders and Association of Cassava Growers of Nigeria.

The PDP candidate stated that the rate of insecurity in the state has led to the relocation of many revenue yielding and job creating business concerns from Edo State to neighbouring states. He also said that it is regrettable that the state of insecurity has led to the molestation of our women in the suburbs and villages by Fulani herdsmen unchallenged.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu said that it was the worst case of insensitivity and rapacity for the governor to give only N5 million naira to the police despite collecting N500 million naira monthly as security votes.

The PDP governorship flag bearer promised to redress the situation when he is elected governor and assumes office on November 12, 2016.
