Francis Sadhere
The Patani Development Forum (PDF) has passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Nicholas Mutu for his excellent performances as the Member Representing the Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The Group’s coordinator, Mr. Lawrence Akpeti who is also a PDP Chieftain from the Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency, rising from the 1st annual meeting of the PDF declared that the group was highly impressed with the representation of Hon. Nicholas Mutu in the Federal House of Representative and passed a vote of confidence on him.
Speaking, Akpeti said that; “Over the years we have never had it so good as Hon. Mutu has touched the lives of the people of our constituency in so many ways in which we can attest to. Hon. Mutu is from Bomadi but we of the Patani extraction are well pleased with his performances to the extent that we are very prepared to continue to accept him as a candidate to be voted for in any elective position as he desires. However, we are pleading with him not to look at any other position at the moment but to remain focused and re-contest the position he presently occupy come 2015.
According to him, “Hon. Mutu has affected our lives by offering employment to many youths through the introduction of small scale industries; men and women have also been empowered by his developmental programmes and initiatives and this is why we are earnestly urging him to re-contest in 2015 because when music is nice it is bound to be replayed.”
“We are appealing to our Hon. Member in the House of Representative who has given hope to the hopeless, home to the homeless and light to those in darkness, to do us the favour by listening to our appeal and request to contest again in 2015 so that our people will continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy which is made evident in his tenure. Learning from experience is not an admission of failure but an addition to wisdom. Hon. Mutu is experienced and we want him to re-contest in 2015 for the sustenance of dividends of democracy to his people,” he stated.
According to him also; “Mutu is a grassroot legislator who knows where it pitches the people. His laudable achievements will be difficult for anybody to beat. He has used his position to influence development to the people and we want to use this opportunity to appeal to our brothers and sisters in Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency to erode all forms of bias, tribal or regional politics to embrace, encourage and support Hon. Mutu to remain serving us with his incomparable leadership of service to all particularly we from his constituency. For us in the Patani Development Forum (PDF) we will stop at nothing to prevail, persuade and support Hon. Mutu to contest come 2015 as our representative in the House of Representatives.”
