We were appalled to read in a recent online publication of a statement accredited to O’tega Emerhor, that he expects INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. Insinuating that the certificate was ‘erroneously’ issued to Omo-Agege by INEC, and expressing hope that it will soon be retrieved and reissued to him (Emerhor).

This is to us, another fruitless hunt by a sinking ship of a supposed politician, who is trying to reap where he did not sow. The truth is that, you cannot reap where you did not sow. Emerhor has, over the weeks to the general elections and after, shown himself to be someone that is obviously being used by some ‘unseen enemies’ of the Urhobo nation, who are bent on trying to destroy the Urhobo unity. That is exactly what they are hoping to achieve with that published statement.

Truth be told, Emerhor should be advised to first, build himself up as a leader in Urhobo Land that should be respected and taken seriously. And not allow himself to be used by some selfish elements to destroy other Urhobos politically, all for personal reasons. Those that are currently clapping, cheering and praising him will soon dump him when they will discover his alleged hidden roles.

A man who claims to be a leader in Delta State, and yet he is interested in destroying his own people for temporary gain of power and cheap propaganda, is not worth being taken seriously by any well-meaning Urhobo man/woman. With the way he is going, especially after the said public statements, we are certain that nobody will take him seriously politically anymore.

It is better for Emerhor to call himself to order, to save his name before it is too late. I do not really know what he stands to gain from all of this. I only feel ashamed for him and his supporters, no matter who or what is involved. He is not really destroying others politically as he may think, but he is ruining and disgracing himself and his own followers.

To be blunt, enough of this rubbish by Emerhor. He really needs to stop all of this show of shame. A man of knowledge and wisdom will not do what he is doing right now.
