The Saipakuma of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Col (Rtd.) Satchie Etoromi, has said that the choice of Prince Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko as the new Olu designate is in conformity with the Iwere people’s choice.

He also expressed excitement over the emergence of Prince Emiko as the Olu designate for the Itsekiri nation, saying the Itsekiri nation is happy about the choice.

It was publicly announced Saturday, September 19, 2015 that the Olu of Wari, His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse II, had joined his ancestors and Prince Emiko was named a successor to the throne and Olu designate.

While speaking to our correspondent in Warri exclusively on the development, Chief Etoromi said he was elated with the emergence of the new Olu designate.

He said: I am very happy over the emergence of the new Olu designate. We worked together in Egbokodo Itsekiri community of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state.”

Chief Etoromi added that: “While I was the chairman of Egbokodo Itsekori Land and Allocation Committee, the new Olu designate served as Secretary and together we made many positive contributions to the community. We brought sanity into land allocation and prevented people from perpetrating fraud in the allocation of land.

He prayed God to give him the wisdom and strength to lead the Itsekiri nation to greater height during his reign.
