Oharisi III marks 63rd birthday with thanksgiving, confers chieftaincy titles on Shikaleke, Akpoyibo, Others

THE Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM, Wilson Ojakovo Oharisi III, recently marked his 63rd birthday with thanksgiving and conferment of chieftaincy title on six persons with a charge to people of Ughelli kingdom to be more responsible.

images(30)Those  conferred includes, President General of Afiesere community, Shikaleke Okiemute, JP, as Udidi r’ Ovie, Wilfred Ovuorayevbie as Uri r’Ovie, Rev Erhurhore Richard, as Ekuwieke r’ Ovie, Mrs. Florence Akpoyibo Ayomanor, as Ivie r Ovie and Mrs. Charity Akpoyibo Ayomanor as Ayeverere r’ Ovie.

The elated monarch who spoke to newsmen said, I am happy to be alive today and I am emulating the Owhorode of Olomu, His Royal Cannon, Ogbon Oghoro I, who has imbibed the spirit of praising God for sparing his life yearly. We are all aware that this has greatly contributed to his being able to read without the aid of glasses and still drives himself at age 99.

“Today is one of my happiest days because since I have been born into this world 63 years ago and I have not deemed it fit celebrate it but because of my forthcoming silver jubilee of my coronation next year, 2017 I using this as a rehearsal to that effect”.

Oharisi who acknowledged Almighty God for the growth, relative peace and the rapid development of Ughelli charged the general populace to always obey and put God first in all their lives.

In his words, “You only grow older and faster when you put God aside in everything you do, when you seek God, He protects you from sickness that causes man to look older in life”

“I am a traditional ruler and a Christian who is a God fearing being that has given the throne to God because without him I wouldn’t have been alive till this day to celebrate this birthday”

He therefore urged all indigenes and non-indigenes to imbibe the spirit of knowing God in all ramifications to attract more of his blessings and longevity their lives.

While charging the newly conferred Chiefs to be more responsible in ensuring peace never departs the kingdom, he held that Ughelli is a land of peace and the sustainability of it must not be compromised by anyone.

Also speaking on behalf of the royal family, first daughter to Oharisi III, Barr Princess Precious Onojegbe described her father as a hero worthy of emulation.

She held that, the people of Ughelli will be deceiving themselves if they looked at her father as just a monarch, his fatherly role in their daily live is beyond human comprehension.

According her, “As a true ruler his relationship with his subjects and the general public is so cordial to the extent that you don’t know who are his biological children” she however appeal to the general public to always stand by the monarch to move the kingdom forward.

Present to receive the thanksgiving items are|: Archbishop Solomon Gbakara, Bishop Dr. Joshua Dollar kikiri, Apst. D. Ighoraro, Rev. M. Ugbotu, Rev .E. Azaka, Rev. Hon B. Esemiteye, and Pastor Joshua Oyibo.
