…As Notre Dame College Ozoro holds Natl. Convention/59th Founders’ Day

The MINORITY Leader of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Leo Okuweh Ogor has revealed plans to build a ‘World Class’  ICT Centre at the Notre Dame College, Ozoro.

Speaking recently at the National Convention and 59th Founders Day Ceremony of the Notre Dame College Ozoro organized
by the Old Boys Association, Ogor, an Old Boy of the school, said it
was more like a home coming to be back at his alma mata, a school he holds dear to his heart for making him what he is today.

The Reps Minority Leader, who was the Chief Launcher of the occasion said having inspected facilities at the school, he was disappointed that he has not been in touch with his foundation.

“I have looked at the facilities in the school which have long
suffered decay and abandonment and I felt disappointed because this isn’t the foundation that we were expected to lay.

“We may not have the necessary resources but by the special grace of God and by your support, we have the instrumentality of government in our hands and government is all about sharing resources.

“I want to sincerely as your brother and an old student, apologize to
everybody here that one way or the other we have failed this
institution. But I can assure you that in the next budget, we will use
the power of appropriation as enshrined in Section 80(4) of our
constitution to provide for some of the needs of the school.”

Hon Ogor assured that as soon as the 2016 budget is passed, a World Class ICT Centre of Excellence will be established in the school.

Chairman of the Occasion and President-General of Isoko Development Union, IDU, High Chief Iduh Amadhe urged all to be committed to the ideals of the founding fathers of the school and contribute their quota to bring back the lost glory of the school.

In his address, the President-General of NODACO Dr. O.E. Esieke
thanked the Old Boys for coming and appealed to them to contribute meaningfully to achieve the set targets for the development of the school.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Principal of the school, Rev.
Emmanuel Ayoro said the new management of the school is poised to improve the academic records of the school while disclosing that all the students that took part in the just concluded junior WAEC passed excellently in all subjects.

High point of the ceremony was the presentation of award of excellence to Hon. Leo Ogor and other dignitaries in recognition of their meritorious and selfless service to the school’s development and mankind.

Retired Bishop of Oleh Diocese, Rt. Rev. J.F.E. Edewor, APC National Leader and member Board of Trustees, Senator Francis Spanner Okpozo, Delta State Head of Service, Sir Patrick Origho, Chairman Isoko North Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, Chairman Delta State Post Primary Education Board, Dr Patrick Akporuno, Commissioner National Assembly Service Commission,  Dr Paul Oweh, Chief James Ejughemre,
