Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Delta State, Chief (Dr) Ogheneochuko Ofa (JP) has described the entrepreneurial scheme of the state government and re-invigoration of the technical education as enduring programme that will significantly check unemployment in Delta State.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with journalists in Asaba, Chief Ofa said that ” While hundred days may be too short, a time of critical evaluation of the government, the state governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has within the period laid a solid foundation towards the full implementation of his prosperity agenda for all Deltans inspite of the current economy crunch in the country.

Dr. Ofa who said that unemployment has become a national issue, however noticed that one of the greatest impediments to its solution is the nations inclination to theoretical orientation in the education curriculum without emphasis on practical frame work that will equip the students to be self reliant upon graduation from school. Chief Ofa who was adjudged the best commissioner in his time on the board of DESOPADEC commended the governor for the massive work going on at Agbor, Ofagbe and Sapele technical colleges in the first phase, as he urged parents and Deltans to take advantage of this platform to equip their young ones with the necessary skills that will assist them in the future instead of continued reliance on public service jobs that are in short supply.

He also commended Dr. Okowa for his inclusive administration which according to him has brought everyone onboard, noting that thegovernor has been fair to all ethnic nationality in the state through his balanced appointment made so far. while calling on all Deltans to continue to rally round this administration in its quest at bringing prosperity to all, he added that the approval for massively road projects accross the state and the release of about four hundred million naira (N400,000.000.00) for the completion of Sapele main market are clear indications that the governor is out to raise the bar of governance, while consolidating on the gains already recorded.

Mainwhile, a cross section of Deltans have continued to praise Chief Ofa the immediate past DESOPADEC commissioner who represented Sapele, Ethiope west and Okpe local government area respectively on the board for his dogged effort in transforming his mandate areas. Chief Ufuoma Duncan, Comrade Umukoro Udumebraye and others who spoke to journalists in their respective interviews said it was Chief Ofa who for the very first time, built a magnificent office complex as a secretariat for the Urhobo ethnic nationality host community Oil and Gas at Orerokpe including area office complexes for DESOPADEC staff of the three local government areas which he represented and since then no other commissioner did same for their people.

They added that as at the moment all the DESOPADEC staff in the three local government areas have moved to their permanent site well furnished with plans for guest houses to be built for them in the next budget before he left office, while listing countless projects he spread across his mandate areas.

The people noted that these offices and accommodation built by Ofa has saved alot of money for the government who every year pay rentages to Landlords and as well also solved the problem of accommodation not to only the staff but for contractors handling projects in the areas these they agreed are critical to the aims and objectives of the board.

They maintained further that during and after his stewardship at DESOPADEC board, Chief Ofa has never  ceased from promoting government of Delta State and its activities remarking that he is one Deltan that has used his hard earn resources to promote government through the media appealing that government  should always remember to appoint him into lucrative positions so that he could have the resources to do more for the less privileged ones and has well join others in government to promote the development of Delta State with his high intellectual administrative acumen devoid of ethnic bias.
