The Vice Chancellor made this promise on Sunday at Campus 111, venue of the reception ground after his thanksgiving service on his appointment as the VC of DELSU at Abraka, Delta state.

While thanking God for the appointment, the VC also thanked the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for finding him worthy and for appointing him as the VC of DELSU, saying that he will not let the staff and students down as he steers the ship of the institution.
He said: “Today is a special day that God has made and I want to thank God for this appointement. I also want to use this opportunity to thank his Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan for seeing me worthy to be appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University.”
“I want to use this opportunity to appeal to my colleagues, students, the communities and the royal fathers that have been very friendly to me, I want to assure you that there will be a mutual beneficial relationship between us. This also goes for Asaba and Oleh where we have campuses. I want to appeal to the students and staff that I am extending my hand of fellowship to you all. I want you to cooperate with me so that we can continue the work left behind by my predecessor,” said Peretomode.
The new VC of DELSU also thanked all those who attended the thanksgiving service, saying that without them the occasion would not have been a memorable one.
Earlier at the thanksgiving service at Our Saviour’s Chapel, Site 2, DELSU, the officiating minister, Rev. (Prof.) S.G. Onibere in his sermon, advised the new VC to put his trust in God, adding that that was the only way that he can succeed in piloting the affairs of the university.
The first reading of the scripture, which was taken from the book of 1st King 3:3-11 was read by the new VC, Prof. Peretomode, while his wife read the 2nd reading from the book of Luke 17: 11-19.
