The National Association of Students Union President, (NASUP), has called on every Nigerian home and abroad to rally round and backed the incoming administration of the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, (RTD).

This was disclosed to newsmen in Benin City during a press chat held at Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, and Secretariat to commemorate the swearing-in ceremony on May 29, 2015 in Abuja.

According to the President, NASUP, Comrade Osaro Louis, “we want to specially congratulate the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari  (RTD) for his victory of March 28th presidential Election. It’s indeed an undisputable victory for all Nigerians and the burning passion and desire for change”.

However, the organization also commended the outgoing President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for his state-man-ship and concern for the continuity of our country, asserting that Nigerians stood tall and conducted themselves as they refused to be used for any sharp practices by politicians.

Comrade Osaro the President, NASUP, further advised the incoming administration to discharge services that will center on accountability and shun all forms of tribalism, nepotism, favoritisms, corruption, and sentiment to reinstate dividends of democracy.

Meanwhile, the association urged the incoming administration to look into some key issues that borders on the students welfare which are free education, discrimination among polytechnics and the university graduates in compliance with national institutional act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; also issues with the federal government and academic staff union, students loans and support for academic technology and research, vocational studies and training centre in higher institutions the rehabilitation of infrastructure above all jobs creation and agricultural development.
