OIL and Gas major in Delta State in collaboration with Ogiame Ikenwoli Hospital, Warri have taken their Free Medical Outreach Programme to the door steps of the elderly people in their host communities.

The Week-long Medical Outreach commenced on Monday 31 May and terminated on Saturday June 5, 2021 at the Hospital premises, Ubeji, Warri South Council Area of Delta.

The programme is designed for only elderly persons from the age of 60 years and above with Medical practitioners on ground to diagnose and administer drugs to patients after checking of vital signs, collation of data and followed by dispensing of necessary drugs.

The Medical outreach programme saw elderly people from the hosts communities of Ifie, Ijala Ikenren, Aja-Etan, Egbokodo and Ubeji communities receiving the free health Care Service organized by Matrix Energy at the Ikenwoli Hospital built and equipped with state –of-the art medical equipment by the oil and gas leading company.

Speaking to newsmen at the end of the event, Matrix Head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment, HSSE, Mr. Fredrick Olomuro encouraged all elderly people living in the areas to take advantage of the free health care service saying that they can register for the service with just a token and call for medical attention at any time and an Ambulance with medical personnel would be sent to check and pick them up at home free.

The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Olisa Olusegun said the services being rendered by them include Consultation/Counselling, Blood Pressure/ Sugar Check, diabetes, Hypertension, Calculation of BMI as well as launching of Geriatric Care amongst others.
