As part of strategies to provide stimulus package to the vulnerable and indigent persons in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, the Warri South Local Government Food Bank Committee, Tuesday April 14 held its inaugural meeting at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat.

The seven – man committee which is chaired by Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has the members representing Warri South Constituencies 1 and 2 in Delta State House of Assembly, Dr. Augustine Uroye and Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, respectively as members.

Other members of the committee are the state commissioner for technical education, Mrs. Gbubemi Ikolo, the chairman of Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency, Chief Joseph Otumara, the state president of National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, Mrs. Helen Tsitse Bobmanuel and Rev. Fr. Peter Awharemuaire of Assumption Catholic Church, Idama St. Warri.

In a bid to ensure judicious distribution of the palliatives being expected, sub committees comprising of seven members each, have also been set up in the INEC recognized wards in Warri South Local Government.

On the modalities deployed in identifying the vulnerable and indigents that would benefit from the stimulus package, Dr. Tidi, disclosed that the process was apolitical as the various community leaders collaborated with the food bank committee to identify the genuine prospective beneficiaries.
