An attempt to kidnap a teacher of Owhe Grammar School, Dr. Mrs. Felicia Ovoh was yesterday foiled by the Nigerian Army attached to the 222 Battalion in Ozoro, who rescued the teacher from four armed men suspected to be kidnappers in Ovrode, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Source said that the victim, who was on her way to school with her children and grandchild before she was accosted by the hoodlums and were held hostage at gunpoint and after confirmation that she was their target, her children were dropped from the vehicle and taken away by her abductors.

The rescue team led by Capt. GM Ado told newsmen at Ozoro that at about 07.15hrs, he got a call about the incident and our quick response team chased the kidnappers to Ovrode swamp forest before she was rescued.

“The hoodlums were shooting sporadically to scare us away and as you can see, our vehicle was destroyed by the kidnappers, but the woman and her vehicle with community money that was with her, N774, 000 were all recovered and handed over to the police at Ozoro division”.

The Army captain however appeals to the general public to always give useful information that could lead to the arrest criminals in living in their environs.

Expressing his gratitude to God and the Nigerian Army, the husband of the victim, Mr. Peter Ovoh said, “It was God that used people and the army to rescue her unhurt, she left the house this morning for work with the children and my grandson, thank God I saw them alive hale and healthy”.
