Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator James Manager has been declared the winner in the Delta State PDP primaries held at the Warri Township Stadium, Delta State.

The PDP returning officer, Mr. Patrick Ukoh declared Senator James Manager as the winner of the primary haven won with a total of 291 votes to beat his rival, Air Vice Marshal Terry Omatsola Okorodudu (Rtd) who scored 13 votes.

Speaking after he was declared the winner, Senator Manager said he was excited to emerge the winner of the PDP primaries adding that it was a call on him to consolidate on what he has been doing for the Senatorial district.

He added that his victory was the first hurdle to jump in the race, stressing that his biggest challenge was to return President Goodluck Jonathan into office in 2015.

His only rival after Governor Uduaghan has stepped down barely 24 hours to the election, AVM Okorodudu, congratulated Senator James Manager for his victory, saying that now that elections have been concluded and winners have emerged, he will work closely with Senator Manager to ensure that the dividends of democracy gets to the people in the grassroots.

Earlier, the member representing Delta Isoko South/Isoko North Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Leo Okuweh Ogor, described the primaries as very peaceful and urged both the losers and winners to be good winners and losers.

“I am here to perform my constitutional rights. I expect a free and fair election because of the way and manner all the delegates have conducted themselves here today. I want to advice all the contestants to play by the rules. At the end of the day there is bound to be a winner and a loser,” Hon. Leo Ogor said.

The election which was conducted amid tight security saw Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan casting his vote at about 3:36pm.

Meanwhile the Chief Ighoyota Amori, the Political Adviser to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan at Ughelli Township Stadium sent Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo out the Delta Central Senatorial race.

At the Delta Central Primary Chief Ighoyota Amori scored 237 votes while Senator Aguariavwodi scored 46 votes. Hon. Solomon Edoja scored 41 votes while Lady Kate Mudiaga-Erhueh scored 6 votes.
