Barely 5months of the swearing-in of LGA chairmen in Delta state, Indigenes of Burutu Local government council have accused the chairman of the council, Chief Ebikeme Clark of ruling the council from WARRI in haphazard manner, saying that since inception of office the chairman has not spent a night with his people in the council.

Ebikeme Clark

The protesting indigenes said the chairman is ruling the council from WARRI and other different places in the state.

They maintained that out of the 7days in the week he hardly come to the council once, only spent 1 or 2 hours and left, noting that some weeks he would not come at all.

According to Burutu indigenes it was not so among past chairmen, his predecessors in beginning like these were very hardworking, and were always available at duty post.

Comr Austin Ozobo, Niger Delta BURUTU born Activist said Ebikeme is setting a bad precedent, as a son of Ijaw national leader he ought to live by example.”He promised us a new phase in BURUTU development, but it going to be a lost dream, looking at the way and manner things are going”, Ozobo angrily said Ebikeme Clark should not bring shame to his father’s good reputation.

”He should avoid anything that would making the people of BURUTU council feel disappointed and regret in voting him into power, 5months are gone, about 500 to 800milion naira is gone unaccounted. He should wake up from his slumber.

He should emulate what is happening in Sapele, Okpe and other Local Governments councils, they are doing very serious work but Ebikeme is still sleeping”.

”For the past five months, Burutu council is in total black out. Criminals, and pirates have taken over Burutu rivers and creeks, ransacking villages and disposesing travellers of millions, yet no security arrangement is on ground to curtail the menace.”

”In the history of Burutu he was the first chairman among others to have traveled to Dubai for his 2nd month in office to celebrated the yuletide season in amidst lamentation of inadequate fund to service workers salaries in the council”.

”Burutu was considerable clean but since he sacked those women employed by his predecessors taking charge of keeping the community clean, Burutu has turn to a dumping ground, Burutu is good as refuge dump, all drains are blocked with wastes, and streets highly polluted”.

There will be a revolution in Burutu except he change for the better”, he said.
