A Warri-based legal practitioner, Barrister Jah’swill Onyemah-Iwe has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari not to abandon some state governments being faced with financial crisis.

He suggested for the refund of Federal Government projects carried out in their various states, if it was not possible to give them bailouts.

President Muhammadu Buhari

In an interview with our Correspondents in Warri, Delta State, the Lawyer said some state governments were in a deep financial crisis and needed urgent help from the Federal Government.

According to him, many countries all over the world were facing financial crisis, and implored President Buhari to come to the rescue of indebted state governments.

He said “I want to make a case for state governments that are facing financial crisis by appealing to President Buhari to come to their aid; the governors of these states must be helped, if they cannot get bailouts, there should be a refund by the Federal Government for projects carried out in their states. The President should not abandon the state governors.”

Commenting on issues in oil rich Delta State, the lawyer called on Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to urgently fix up the deplorable Warri/Sapele road abandoned by former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Hear him “Former Governor Uduaghan tried to do a BRT on the Warri/Sapele road, but the governor was unable to complete the projects and today the road is so bad, bringing untold hardship to the people and so I am appealing to Governor Okowa to return Warri/Sapele road to its original position, he should not go ahead with the BRT, instead he should fix it as a normal road for the suffering residents of Warri and other road users. The road as it is now has destroyed many cars and sent many people to their early graves.”
