IKPIKPINI GAVE OUT DAUGHTER IN MARRIAGE

The sleepy Ugbokodo Community in Okpe Local Government Area was agog recently as the family of Chief (Captain) Clifford Ikpikpini (Rtd), the Egbefe of Okpe Kingdom gave the hands of his amiable daughter, Miss Ojerime out in marriage according to Urhobo native law and custom and wedding to her heartthrob, Mr. Adesoji Adedapo Ajao, from Lagos State.

Speaking at the ceremony that attracted creme-de-la-creme of the society that came from within and outside the state, Chief James Augoye, Commissioner for Works who was chairman of the wedding reception admonished the new couple to show understanding to one another, tolerate one another, exhibit high sense of responsibility, patience and love for one another.

Chief Augoye advised them against bringing in a third party to sort out their differences as it would always come up saying, that the best option is to talk it over among themselves.

Advising the couple, Chief Ikpikpini, father of the bride who was visibly elated expressed his appreciation to God for the successful marriage, he charged the new couple to be intimate in love, open minded with each other and be very close to God as He gives all things including happy and fulfilled marriage and abundant blessings.

According to Chief Ikpikpini, “marriage is an institution of continuous learning, as a result, they should learn to compromise, forgive each other when offended. Even children of the same parents still have differences not to talk of people brought up from different backgrounds, learn to always say, “I am sorry” whenever the need arises. I pray God to bless the marriage and use this medium to express my appreciation to all those who took time off their busy schedules to honour us, we are grateful.”

In his comments, Mr. Adesoji Adedapo Ajao, the groom expressed his appreciation to God almighty for the successful marriage, he also thanked all guests, friends, colleagues and well wishers for their individual and collective roles in making the ceremony a success.

The ceremony was attended by Chief James Augoye, Commissioner for Works, Chief Onomigbo Okpoko(SAN), Chief Peter Asagba, Hon. Efe Uko, chairman, PDP, Okpe Local Government Area, top government functionaries, serving councillors, top politicians , prominent Chiefs, business magnates among many others.
