Banks operating in Delta State have been called upon to remit their taxes appropriately as well as timely.

This call was made by Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Services (DSIRS) in an interactive stakeholders session with Regional Managers of banks and their representatives, he said that the Service is not satisfied with their remittances adding that modalities has been put in place to checkmate their tax remittance in accordance with the law

Hon. Ighrakpata who reminded the Regional bank managers and their representatives of the penalties attached to inaccurate remittance of taxes noted that the reasons of inviting regional managers to the meeting is to ensure total compliance adding that the law against tax defaulters or incomplete remittance of taxes will be employed if any bank is found wanting.

Hon. Ighrakpata who was represented by Frank Nwugo(Esq), Executive Director of Operations the Executive Director of Operations noted with dismay that feedback from the banks is not measurable with the desire and expectations of the Service.

He disclosed that the Service would employ full implementation of the law on any banks that failed to cooperate with the Service for accurate remittances of their taxes

The Interactive session between the Revenue Service, bank regional managers and stakeholders was well attended as all issues raised were well as sorted out.
