“I don’t subscribe to the saying that it’s God that takes. God cannot take Omovie at this time. But I am consoled by the fact that he lived a good life and that he was a shining example to others.

“We are here to tell you that we are sorry about the lose of your husband. On behalf of the entire Warri South Council, we console you on the painful exit of your husband.

“His death was a great lose to the entire Warri South Council Area. But I speak with the consolation that God Almighty will watch over this family.

“Omovie stood by me right from the beginning. He was a great philanthropist who has touched so many lives.

“If you go the council today there is not much activities going on there because the entire Warri South Council Area is in a sad mood.

“We are not going to allow his legacy to die. We are going to sustain this legacy, Tidi said.

On the condolence register, Tidi wrote; ” What else can we say than to state the obvious that we didn’t expect our leader to leave us so soon. We are consoled that the good life he lived was quite remarkable. We pray God Almighty to repose his soul and may perpetual light continue to shine on him till we meet to part no more.”

Responding, a member of the family who spoke on behalf of Omovie’s wife, thanked Tidi, his Vice and his entourage for the visit.

He said the family will keep the council informed about the burial arrangements at the appropriate time.
