One of the buildings being constructed at the much-flaunted Delta State Mega Project, the Warri Industrial Business Park in Warri, the commercial hub of Delta State, has collapsed.

Although no life was lost in the incident, it was gathered that part of the structure caved in few days ago following a heavy down pour.

The source however said that the structural failure at the project site Was as a result of substandard materials used in the construction.

It was also learnt that construction workers had on Wednesday packed out the debris of the collapse part of the structure and have commence repairs Work on the effected areas.

It could be recalled that about two companies have been working at the three billion dollar project site, erecting buildings as part of the first phase of construction at the project.

Under the first contract, Palmyra Construction will construct the iconic Administrative building which would include a seven-storey building with extended parking lots.

The project will cover a floor area of over 10,000sqm with office space available for leasing.

The second contract includes the construction of 11.9 kilometres road network within the Park.

The road network which is designed to offer the widest concrete road System in Nigeria will be constructed by CCC Construction.
