The Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Mr Nelson Egware, has attributed the delay in paying workers salaries in the State to the delay in holding FAAC meeting in Abuja.

Mr Egware said since the APC administration came into power at the Federal level, the FAAC meetings that usually hold mid months have been moved to month ends with the last one held on 28th October, 2015.

He further added that, “it therefore implies that if the meeting holds by month end, salaries can’t be paid until at least some days after the meeting.

“The Okowa administration is very responsive and committed to the prompt and regular payment of workers salaries in the State at all levels,” Egware said.

Mr Egware however urged the general public and all workers in the state to understand where the delay in salaries payment is coming from.
